The LVBC team is set to host a side event focused on Promoting Sustainable Development of Inland Waterways Transport in East Africa.
The goal of this side event is to facilitate strategic collaboration and investment among regional and international stakeholders to develop a resilient, efficient, and environmentally sustainable inland waterways transport infrastructure.
Discussions will center on enhancing regional connectivity, minimizing environmental impacts, and stimulating economic growth through targeted investments in inland waterways transport systems across East Africa.

Hon. Andrea Ariik Malueth, East African Community Deputy Secretary General for Infrastructure, Productive, Social & Political Sectors, will deliver the opening remarks.
Hon Ariik will provide an insightful overview of sustainable inland waterways transport in East Africa, emphasizing the significant challenges as well as the tremendous opportunities it offers for economic growth and improved regional connectivity.
