PROJECT: MULTINATIONAL LAKE VICTORIA MARITIME COMMUNICATIONS AND TRANSPORT

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVE : To contribute to broad-based poverty alleviation and improvement of livelihoods of people through increased investment in maritime transport and fishing on Lake Victoria

PROJECT COMPONENTS :

1. Establish maritime communications system for safety on Lake Victoria

2. Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) – Mwanza established.

3. Project management and capacity building.

PROJECT FUNDING : AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK GROUP.

PROJECT LOCATION.

The Main regional activity is in Ilimela, mwanza region in the United Republic of Tanzania.

Republic of Uganda and the united Republic of Tanzania have national activities at different landing sites where construction of search and rescue centers is underway at different landing sites.
